The Indonesian tourism sales mission coordinated by Wonderful Indonesia in Perth resulted in a potential transaction of IDR118,988,352,000. Sales Mission conducted at Royal Perth Golf Club on July 16, 2018 was followed by 72 buyers from Australia and New Zealand.  Deputy Marketing Development I of Tourism Ministry I Gde Pitana stated this program is a form of synergy between Badung Tourism Promotion Board and Badung Regency Tourism Office.  "Australia and New Zealand Sales Mission 2018, Bali and Beyond in Perth, is part of the Sales Mission in three cities, where the other two cities are Auckland and Sydney. These activities received positive responses from Australian buyers," said I Gde Pitana in a press release, Monday (7/23/2018).  I Gde Pitana hoped with the high number of potential transactions it will help in the pursuit of the target of 20 million foreign tourists in 2019, especially for foreign tourists from Australia and New Zealand.  "Australia is one of the most potential markets for foreign tourists to Indonesia. Moreover, the tourism industry that we brought yesterday comes from Bali and Lombok, which are main destinations of Australian tourists," said I Gde Pitana again.  This year, Tourism Ministry aims to bring in 17 million foreign tourists to Indonesia. Of that number, Australian tourist visits are targeted to reach as many as 1.35 million. The figure rises about 200 thousand compared to last year's 1,188,449 foreign tourists. In addition to good market responses, Australia also has a large average spending of USD1,189.  Tourism Minister Arief Yahya in 2018 indeed focuses on selling such sales mission. "Sales Missions are ideal because it provides opportunities to interact, exchange questions. [We] can interact warmly with representatives of tourism and industry actors there. So the opportunity to sell as well as promote these destinations to the Australian market becomes larger," said Minister Arief.  For Sales Mission this time, the Tourism Ministry brought 16 tourism industries: 15 from Bali and one from Lombok. The buyers were entertained by traditional dances and sweepstakes for quiz, door prize, and grand prize of Garuda Indonesia return flight tickets and Bali tour packages.  Also present were at this event were the Chairman of Badung Tourism Promotion Agency IGN Rai Suryawijaya, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia for Perth Dewi Gustina Tobing, Deputy of Marketing Development I of Tourism Ministry I Gde Pitana, Head of Tourism Office of Badung Regency I Made Badra as well as Garuda Indonesia Representative in Perth Firman.
