The Ministry of Tourism held a Bali Sales Mission in three Australian cities (Sydney, Melbourne and Perth) and the City of Auckland, the New Zealand Capital. The Bali Sales Mission event, which includes 18 tourism industry players from the country, will offer exciting destinations tourists packages to Bali, Lombok and Yogyakarta in table top and business meetings to 400 buyers/wholesalers and retails agents from Australia and New Zealand.  Assistant Deputy Marketing Development I Regional IV of Australia and Oceania at Tourism Ministry Adella Raung supported the activities of Bali Sales Mission as an effort to increase the number of tourists from both countries. "Activities with the format B to B are much more effective to pursue the target number of tourists."  This year Tourism Ministry is targeting the arrival of 17 million foreign tourists, as many as 1.35 million are foreign tourists from Australia or up by 200 thousand compared to last year's 1,188,449 foreign tourists. Meanwhile, the target of foreign tourists visiting from New Zealand this year is expected to increase significantly compared to last year's 100 thousand foreign tourists.  "Hopefully, with the Bali Sales Mission involving the tourism industry from the country it can increase the number of foreign tourists visiting from Australia and New Zealand to Indonesia this year," said Adella, in a press release on Wednesday (5/23/2018). This activity is also expected to achieve the target of foreign exchange proceeds of IDR454 billion.  This Bali Sales Mission activity, Adella said, is expected to restore tourism in Bali just like before Mount Agung eruption some time ago. "From the increase, the impact will be expected to spread to 10 priority tourism destinations (DPP), especially in three DPP as the focus, namely; Toba, Mandalika, and Borobudur although we cannot be apart from also selling Beyond Bali to introduce Indonesia," said Adella.
