Alvaro Bautista, the reigning world champion and the winner of the season opener in Phillip Island, is ready to compete in the upcoming second round of the WSBK Mandalika 2023 schedule in Indonesia. Bautista, representing Aruba.it Ducati, showcased his remarkable talent and determination at Phillip Island, winning all three races, including the superpole race, and the first and second races. As he prepares for Mandalika, Bautista aims to continue his winning streak and secure his position as the leading rider in the championship.

Alvaro Bautista has created history by winning three consecutive races at Phillip Island, making him the most successful World Superbike (WSBK) rider at the circuit with a total of eight wins. Bautista's impressive performance in Australia has also catapulted him to the top of the WSBK rider standings, having amassed 62 points.

He currently holds a 28-point lead over Andrea Locatelli (Pata Yamaha Prometeon), who secured a third-place finish in the second race. Completing the top four riders in the standings are Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) and Bautista's teammate, Michael Ruben Rinaldi, who both have 31 points.

The WSBK 2023 season opener at Phillip Island has concluded, and the next round on the schedule is set to take place in Mandalika, Indonesia. The WSBK Mandalika 2023 will be held at the Mandalika International Street Circuit, located in Lombok Tengah, West Nusa Tenggara from March 3-5. This time, unlike the previous season where it served as the season finale, WSBK Mandalika is scheduled as one of the early season rounds.

In the previous season, Toprak Razgatlioglu dominated the event by winning all the races. However, Alvaro Bautista still managed to claim the world championship title. This year, Bautista has an opportunity to emulate Razgatlioglu's feat at Mandalika and emerge victorious.
